The first in a series of alternative sports exhibitions will take place in Johannesburg from the 23 to 25 September 2011 at Riversands Farm. This three-day expo is the country’s first and only sports show of this size. AltX Sports Expos has incorporated disciplines from land, water, urban and air to produce an interactive sports village that could well boost the growing popularity of alternative and extreme sports.
Experience is the goal
Although alternative sports is a growing trend, many disciplines are still sub cultures, and the opportunity to learn about and experience them are rare. The idea of the expo centres around creating a show that allows visitors to try out their chosen sport first hand. Through advice, guidance and encouragement from a team of experts and professional athletes, people of all ages can gain enough confidence to experience it for themselves.
