ANNOUNCEMENT | Merrell Adventure Addicts will be hosting an adventure training weekend in the Garden Route on the weekend of 2-3 April. The event is an overnight 20-24 hour race exercise for teams preparing for Expedition Africa 2016 taking place in the same region in May. Everyone interested in adventure racing is welcome, in teams of 2 or 4, even if not registered for EA.
Perfect time and place to practice navigation, night racing and teamwork.
All of the finer details will be finalised in the second week of March. (Merrell are busy competing in the Patagonia Expedition Race this month)
Quick facts:
- Start and finish: Knysna, Western Cape 2-3 April 2016 (estimated start time 12h00 – 2 April)
- Estimated times for teams: 20-24 hours
- Disciplines: Running/Trekking, Mountain Biking, Paddling
- No support crew needed
- Minimal compulsory kit: Waterproof Jacket, Headtorch, Cellphone, First Aid kit. Boats to be confirmed.
- Minimal entry fee to cover medic, venue and forest fees – estimate in the region of R200 – R300 per person (will be confirmed in second week of March)
