Enter as an individual or in a two-person (pair) team. You will receive a full-colour A3 street map on which checkpoints are marked. A cluesheet will guide you to the control locations. You will have a limited time (one hour or 90-minutes) to walk, jog or run to as many checkpoints as possible.

AR’s NAVIGATION ESSENTIALS is a navigation skills workshop starting from the basics i.e. what exactly are lines of longitude, latitude and how do degrees, minutes and seconds fit in; to direction of travel and advanced practical examples taking into account “real life” situations.
The NAVChallenge is a three-hour orienteering race open to both mountain bikers and trail runners. It is an outdoor adventure for all levels of mountain bikers and trail runners regardless of whether or not you have prior experience in orienteering or navigation.

Entry for the First Ascent Mast Challenge on Saturday, 17th April is now open (from 1 February 2010). The 11km route ascends from the Tokai Picnic area to the Summit of Constantiaberg. The race is against the clock and against gravity – 900 metres of it! This is a unique challenge, with a limited entry field. Trail run, MTB ride and both.
