News from today is that Seagate still lead despite an early leg injury to navigator Chris Forne following a fall. A few South Africans are out there too.
South African Shelly Hufner is over there and racing in team ‘Sheep Eaters’ (#6) with a Kiwi and two Aussies. Currently 31st on leaderboard.
Sakkie Meyer (now officially a Kiwi but still a Saffa to his friends) is racing in team ‘You can cry but keep moving’ (#18). Currently 20th.
Team Assagai, with three South Africans Morne Pienaar, Jimmie Fourie, Eddie Schuurman plus Andie Lowry (Ireland), are currently in 35th place.
Apparently teams have been pelted by torrential rain and strong wind.
Now, on Day 4, a total of six teams out of the 52 starters have now withdrawn from the adventure race and several are now travelling unranked.
