At around midnight, SA time, Merrell Adventure Addicts reached midcamp (TA5). They got some sleep on this section and seem to have had a very good 101km cycle leg.
On BreatheMag, Peter Dobos has written a post about getting Donovan Sims to record a video message (on Facebook) for the team to watch at midcamp. It’s a funny post. Thanks to Tecnu’s team manager, Doug, the team received it.
AR World Series director, Craig Bycroft, caught up with the team there and he kindly sent us this email.
“Caught up with Merrell on the last hill into midcamp – they weren’t as happy as yesterday for sure!!!! said they haven’t had a very good last 24 hours. But I told them how well they are doing and I think my excitement worked into their sleep deprived brains 🙂 I would say after a sleep at midcamp, and realising they are right at the top of the field, they will be pretty excited. It has been a hilly ‘ride’ and everyone is pretty smashed coming into midcamp.”
