Interview with Merrell’s Graham Bird

Team Merrell Adventure Addicts participated in the 2013 Adventure Racing World Championships in Costa Rica. They placed 5th after 180hours of racing. Lisa de Speville, from www.AR.co.za, spoke to team captain Graham Bird after the race.

Before you listen to the interview… parts of the original interview didn’t save; others did. I’ve put together the clips that did save – linking them. In these sections Graham talks about sleep, their feet, The CP48 and what they did well in this race.

Recorded on Wednesday, 11 December 2013 at around 09h00 (Costa Rica). The team completed the race on Tuesday, 10 December 2013 at 02h40-ish. By the time I spoke to them they’d had two big sleeps of over 10-hours and were eating breakfast.

  1. Awesome. Interesting about the feet – keep it simple, clean your feet/socks and don’t try and fix it if it aint broken. Indeed. This was a classic old school AR expedition by the sounds of it.
