Bimbache: Start of Day 3

Again, scouring the web for news. Cyanosis and Merrell are still close to each other – Merrell is ahead of Cyanosis. They’re still on the hike and look to have just under 10km to go to T11. They’ll bike (22km) after the hike and then they have a compulsory 4hr rest. It’s a pity that they’ll hit this during the day.

In terms of overall placing… they’re looking great! This is an image of the tracking – captured now. Merrell is #13 and Cyanosis is #15. Teams are moving right to left towards the control top left, near #1. This is the hike/bike transition. Off screen to the left there are probably about 6 teams ahead – many sleeping… at the compulsory stop. So, they’re well placed. After tonight, more will be revealed, as happens in races of this length.

This is a fun image with tracks. #15 is Cyanosis and #13 is Merrell. The one black track is Cyanosis; Merrell took a pretty identical route. The other black line that continues, is Team Blackwater (Mike Kloser with Nathan Fa’ave and Monique Merrill, with Chris Forne navigating). Cyanosis has been there for a while; resting I’d guess.
