January 14, 2010 AdventureLisa 0

As I am unable to attend the Namib Desert Challenge (21-25 February 2010) presented by Kinetic Events, my entry, which I received after winning ladies last year, is up for grabs. The usual entry fee is €995.00 (EUR) per competitor, which is around R10,750. My entry is going for a R1,500 admin fee.

Practical vs Sentimental

January 10, 2010 AdventureLisa 1

People are magpies – indiscriminately hoarding items that MAY be of use. And when we pack for races we tend to do the same, throwing in this and that ‘just in case’. I asked a number of adventure racers to confess the unusual items lurking in their backpacks and crates, whether practical or sentimental.
