For the first time, the host race HUAIRASINCHI will hold the majority of its route in lowlands and not at altitude as in years past, a plus that will certainly help international teams prepare to come to Ecuador.

Ecuador is the country with the greatest concentration of rivers and flora and fauna diversity per square kilometer in the world, providing a dramatic setting for an Adventure Racing World Championship. The race will be described as an expedition experience, Crossing the Andes at Latitude 0°, and it’s important to underscore that the race will not be held at extreme altitudes.

The race altitude will vary between 0 and 4000 meters above sea level. Teams will acclimatize in Quito at 2800m. The race will descend past waterfalls, climb canyons, cross primary natural forests, páramo highlands, traverse gorges, as well as various water environments like mangroves, rivers, lakes, and inlets across the country from one region to another. The race organizers guarantee that racers will have an unbelievable time, living and experiencing all that Ecuador has to offer.
